Mariinskij teatr

The Mariinsky Theatre is one of the greatest opera and ballet theatres in Russia and the world. For more than two centuries of its history, it has become a symbol of Russian culture. The greatest composers M. I. Glinka, P. I. Tchaikovsky, M. P. Mussorgsky, N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov wrote for this stage, and the classical ballet of Marius Petipa was born here – the hallmark of Russian ballet. Today, the Mariinsky Theater is a technically advanced theater complex that includes seven stages in St. Petersburg: the Historical Stage, the New Stage and four chamber halls (Prokofiev Hall, Stravinsky Foyer, Shchedrin and Mussorgsky Halls), an acoustically perfect Concert Hall, as well as the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theater in Vladivostok.
